Thank you, Flavio! Few people do; the holiday itself moved away from its roots, but the word remained. Enjoy the Holiday Season in Budapest! Boldog Karácsonyt!
Happy Holidays! This was a very interesting and informative writing. I learned a lot by reading it. Thank you for sharing all this fascinating information about the solstice in different countries. Blessings to you for a happy and healthy holiday season.
When we were sailors we counted the days to the solstice. On a boat longer days were better days. We could do more. We were really living in the elements then and were very aware of the sun, the stars, the weather, the wind.
Happy solstice! I'm looking forward to longer days!
Thank you! To be fair, we are not looking forward to longer days here in the desert of AZ, since it will mean hotter days, but I always appreciate the turn of the seasons.
I can imagine, as sailors, you would be so in tune with the elements, and I can understand counting the days to the solstice. :) Sounds like such a great experience! I would never do it (I'm not a boat person, tend to get seasick even on a calm day on a river), and maybe because of it, I admire those like you who can sail far distances and live on a boat.
I love this! It's amazing how the solstice works and how it's connected tribes and people across time! Awesome post :)
Thank you! 😊
Nice post! Very interesting! I didn't know the origin of karácsonyi! Thank you.
