Currently wandering around OKC, but my husband and I have been falling in love with the South West (over our last few visits) and think about relocating there frequently. Excited to find a fellow wanderer here!

Yes, the Southwest is amazing! We moved here thirty years ago and still love it (most of it anyway). But even if you are not ready to relocate, glad you are enjoying the area! :) And thank you! Glad you found me :)

Hi! I just stumbled across your account and I think I’m gonna love it here.

Currently I’m in Durham, CT where I live.

My favorite places to travel that I have gone back to many times are the white mountains of NH and Mt. Desert Island, Maine. But I left a piece of my heart in both Tuscany and Hawaii.

I have yearned to see the notre dame cathedral for many decades and haven’t gotten there yet.

I will definitely love the travel stories. Recounts of traveling with kids especially in their earliest days since I don’t want to have to suppress my wanderlust when we have babies joining our family soon hopefully. Do you ever travel with pets? Right now we have to bring our two dogs when we go places too.

I don’t know what else I’d like to share! Just that I grew up in nature and around animals and that’s how I live my life and work now as well as a veterinary nurse, and always trying to travel and be in nature.

Hi Emily, Welcome! <3

I haven't been (yet) in the White Moutains in NH (though we also have White Mountains in AZ, which I visited several times); I do love Hawaii though - I have a few posts about our latest visit.

Thank you for reminding me to write about our travels with the kids - you definitely do not have to suppress your wanderlust even when they are babies. I remember asking our pediatrician the same question: we love to travel, can we do it with babies? His answer was: they will learn from you, enjoy things you enjoy, don't change your lifestyle. Our kids grew up to be travelers themselves, too.

We never traveled with dogs, but my son and his wife do. They take more road trips to be able to take their dogs, and they have to plan a bit (unless they go on camping trips) to make sure they book hotels that allow dogs, but they love it. When they travel overseas though they leave their dog with family or friends.

It's so wonderful that you enjoy nature, and help animals as a veterinary nurse! :) I know how hard that job is, but it can also be so rewarding I'm sure :)

Thank you again for stopping by and hope you'll enjoy the site.

I will start, to get the conversation going:

Where in the world are you?

At home I am in Phoenix, Arizona. I don't love the city, but I still love the state.

What is your favorite place to travel to?

It changes, but anywhere in the US Southwest in the shoulder months, the Pacific Northwest in the summer, the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico any time, though this latest is becoming less desirable since they built the Maya train :(

What is a place you always wanted to visit but haven’t yet?

I visited more places than I even knew existed when I was growing up, so I don't have a perfect answer to this, but I dreamed of visiting the steppes of Central Asia for the culture of the people living there.

What would you like to read about here?

Please let mw know if you have specific type of posts you like, or use this prompt to ask me any questions.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Besides traveling and writing, I love to knit, crochet, and generally do any craft, especially if it can be done with yarn. I carry yarn and small projects with me during my travels. I have two 13-year-old cats, they are the reason for shorter trips which they generally don't mind. If we are away longer, they let me know they are annoyed when I return... even if they had someone take care of them.
