Please continue to write your posts, because we love reading them very much and I truly enjoy seeing photos of American nature, which is so different to the nature here in Romania, where I live in Maramures.

Thank you!!! <3 You made my day! I will be there every step of the way with you and all environmentalists, and everyone who cares about our planet - sometimes all we can do is remind everyone about all the beauty around us. We will always strive to protect what we love! <3

What can I say? It seems you had a beautiful trip in your homeland ♥ I am in the reverse situation, an American (married to a Hungarian) living in Romania... though I haven't been back for close to 18 years. Next year when you come, please stop by for a visit in Breb, Maramureș county, we'd love to meet you. Cake with homemade jams, foraged herbal tea, organic (not local) coffee, locally distilled horincă, whatever you like, it'll be on the table.

Thank you so much, Cheryl! I appreciate your support <3.

And I will definitely stop by next time I visit Romania. I was actually thinking of looking you up, but we were far from you and too busy while in the country. Next time we will plan for it :) I love the countryside in Transylvania. We stopped by the village my grandparents grew up in Covasna county, but never visited any place in Maramures county, even as a child (traveling there was harder in those days), so it is definitely a place we will visit next time - thank you for the invite! :)

"However, a few days ago I was going to delete it. I felt it was no point in posting it. Or ever posting anything again. I was going to delete my Substack, crawl under a rock, and never write again. I get melodramatic sometimes, when I’m sad." --> I am right there with you. I was THIS close to deleting my Substack too!

Great article Re! I know what you mean about feeling at peace while walking in the forest... Especially in autumn with all the beautiful colors around you.

Very much enjoyed this! I was in Transylvania (including Brasov) in October also -- perhaps we crossed paths!

Wow! Yes, we might have. I wish I knew... We stayed in the center of town in an apartment on the top floor of an old historic building. So glad you enjoyed the post! :)

They really were. Especially the forests; it helped that we were there at the peak of the leaves turning. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Jeanine :)

It sounds like this trip was useful as well as beautiful. You’ll always have a piece of your birth country in your heart, no matter where you live. Thanks for sharing!

It was. And yes, we always carry a piece of our birth place with us, and at least I often thought I wanted to move back. Who knows, I might feel that way again, but for now it's nice to enjoy it only when visiting. Thank you for reading and commenting, Rachel! :)
