Emese! You saw it in the rough! It is still so amazing, those statues. Really Asian like in appearance (imho). What an adventure!!

Love this! Reminds us of a similar site in Belize, Xunantunich, which similarly was an out of the way spot and slowly becoming more touristy. Still incredible, though.

I just visited Xunantunich last year, and you are right, it was much more touristy than I expected. I wish I'd seen it "back in the day", I'm sure you enjoyed it! It is still worth the visit, it is an incredible site! Thanks for reading and commenting :)
