Yes, I hear it too ☺️. The scene from the movie when they finally get there looks nothing like the town (now) though, but I heard from locals that in the 1970s it was still a tiny fishing village… Yes, we had a great trip! Thanks for your comment, Rachel! 😊
Stunning beaches, quiet streets, and beautiful street arts, Zihuatanejo is a hidden gem! These days, not many places still have that authentic small-town vibe. Thanks for introducing me to another place to add to my bucket list!
Yes, it's rare to find them, especially so close to an area developed for tourists. So glad you liked my post! Hope you go soon - before it gets more popular with tourists and US expats ;) Met lots of Canadians there... most retired though, spending the winter in Zihua.
I feel that Mexico is so close to my everyday life, with over a quarter of the produce in supermarkets here coming from there. Ironically, I've never been to Mexico. I'm really interested in its rich history, and your posts give me beautiful glimpses into this country.
Thank you, Bree! I'm so glad you like my posts about Mexico. Hope you get to visit it someday, I'm sure you'll enjoy the culture and the people, no matter what part you visit. :)
Every time I read "Zihuatanejo," I hear it in Morgan Freeman's voice 😂 What a lovely trip!
